I’m tired of hearing people bash President Trump over his handling of the coronavirus crisis. The fact is, Trump has been on top of the pandemic from day one and here’s some proof.

In the early days, when little was known of the Wuhan virus, our great president sought to reassure the nation that “it’s one person from China” and “it’s going to be fine.” He then went on to say, “it’s almost down to zero,” “people are getting better,” and “we pretty much shut it down.” What he was trying to do with those statements was to give our nation hope. He could have said, “we need to get people tested,” “maintain social distance,” and “stay at home.” But what would that have done? It would have freaked people out and caused widespread panic in the country.

Trump shrewdly understood that you have to ease people into taking proper steps in an emergency situation. You can’t just get them to do the right things right away. That’s simply not part of human nature. People have to become gradually acclimated to disaster before they can sensibly react to it. Otherwise they will run around like chickens without heads falling all over each other to find a way out of the barnyard.

To keep people calm during the initial spread of the virus, Trump wisely showed his disregard for the microbe by playing golf and conducting rallies. In doing this he was conveying to the American people that we were not about to let a little, itty-bitty microbe bring our nation to a halt even though he knew that would eventually happen. Trump said he wanted the country opened up and raring to go by Easter. That didn’t work out because God wanted to increase the suffering of liberals who live in the blue states, particularly New York, Washington, and California. Happily, President Trump is doing all he can to help mitigate coronavirus suffering nationwide.

For example, Trump has provided eight million ventilators to New York City, which works out to one ventilator per city resident. He has also arranged for US Navy hospital ships to sail into ports in Los Angeles, Denver, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, and Phoenix. And he has championed stimulus legislation that when passed will provide every American with a million tax-free dollars, free flights to Russia and Saudi Arabia, and discounts at Trump owned hotels.

The Democrats have worked hard to stymie President Trump in guiding our nation through this difficult period. One way they did that was with their impeachment rigmarole, which kept the president tied up fighting bogus and completely false charges. And Democrat governors, by not being polite to our nation’s head of state, have created friction at a time when being well mannered is just as important as saving lives. It is understandable that our wonderful president would not want to return calls for assistance by “that woman,” Gretchen Whitmer—the Democrat governor of Michigan.

We should be thankful that we have a capable, very stable genius running our nation and its response to Covid-19. If a Democrat had been president and allowed scientists and medical professionals to take the lead in handling the problem we might have saved the lives of a few old people but the impact to our economy and our national psyche would have been devastating. The curve those experts would have flattened would have been the Dow Jones average for the next ten years, which would have made Americans who survived the pandemic pretty unhappy.

We are so lucky, as we make our way through perilous waters, to have a former reality TV host in charge of our country. Those who have done that work know perception is reality, meaning how you see things around you, no matter how they actually are, becomes what’s real to you. So, if we think the coronavirus is no big deal it will be no big deal—at least for those not killed by the contagion. Bravo President Trump for keeping our nation’s spirits up as we deal with this this vile pandemic. For in the end, as our illustrious leader said at the beginning of this crisis, “like a miracle it will disappear.”
