(There’s No Going) Home for the Holidays

Oh, there’s no going
Home for the Holidays,
‘Cause no matter how much you wash your hands,
When you travel way over
To your parents’ place,
You are risking spreading covid to the fam.’

I met a man who lives in Tennessee,
And he was staying at a small inn
‘Cause he doesn’t want to die.
From Pennsylvania folks are staying away
From Dixie’s sunny shore.
From Atlantic to Pacific, gee
We’ll stay put and not get sick.

Oh there’s no going home
For the holidays, ‘cause no matter
How safe you think it is,
There’s a deadly pandemic
Virus on the rage.
So let’s all stay where we are
To stop covid.

Take no bus, avoid the train, and stray away from the airplane.
Let your children stay at college though afar.
For the illness they could bring from some odd freshman outing,
May put you in the E. R.

From home (and stop covid).
